The program is designed to provide comprehensive and well-balanced training to undergraduates in the field of e-marketing and social media. The program is multidisciplinary by design and provides a fundamentally sound grounding in technical as well as business skills, coupled with associated skills in areas of managerial skills, skills for life, and societal values. The program is nestled within the College of Business. The program is designed to meet increasing needs of business to obtain human resources with a blended background in business knowledge base and IT skills. The program has 131 CH and covers the latest trends, technologies and tools incorporated in the curriculum which is needed by the students to succeed in their career.
A “General Education Diploma” (GED) with the following conditions: A General Education Diploma (12th standard) or certified equivalent with a minimum D grade in (pure or applied Mathematics) and English language.
A minimum of 500 in TOEFL, (or IELTS - 5 overall (academic); or TOEFL IBT-61)[1] or must take the English Placement Test (PT) at UOB.
Must take the Math and IT Placement Test (PT) at UOB and shall be placed at foundation/credit courses as per the PT result.
Students enrolled in the GFP will have to complete it in no more than two academic years.
Students shall pass the College Admission Test and/or the College Interview as required.
Develop the relevant knowledge and skills required to successfully develop solutions to complex problems related to e-marketing and social media.
Develop graduates with the ability to contribute to the society’s progress through research, professional and ethical practice.
Demonstrate an understanding of general managerial concepts, principles and practices
Demonstrate an understanding of concepts related to e-marketing and social media
Apply managerial concepts and principles to independently solve complex business problems related to general business activities
Apply the gained knowledge and skills to complex problems related to e-marketing and social media
Analyze a complex problem and design a solution based on an organization’s resources, requirements and needs
Integrate appropriate regulations, standards and practices in company’s operations
Work effectively in a team and collaborate with others to accomplish a common goal
Communicate effectively to a range of audience through oral, written and visual presentation
This program combines core business subjects with special focus on soft skills, Marketing and social media which equip the graduates to choose their careers across various areas of business administration, or they can find a position directly related to Marketing and Social Media.
Provides students the necessary knowledge as well as a broad set of skills that are useful in multiple functional areas of any private or public sector entity. The business administration and Marketing and Social Media program provides students high employ ability potential in areas such as:
