College of Engineering at the University of Buraimi achieved a remarkable achievement in the Minerals Development Oman #MDO2025 Hackathon

A team from the College of Engineering at the University of Buraimi achieved a remarkable achievement in the Minerals Development Oman MDO2025 Hackathon, held at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibri, Al Dhahirah Governorate. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Suleiman bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers.
The winning team consisted of students Amira Saleh Al Alawi, Sheikha Saif Al Nuaimi, and Sarah Salem Al Nuaimi, under the supervision and participation of Dr. Ahmed Salah El-Din Nasif, Associate Professor at the College of Engineering. The team presented an innovative project titled Sustainable Concrete, which focuses on developing low-cost concrete through the recycling of construction waste. This initiative aims to enhance resource efficiency and support environmental sustainability efforts.
