The diploma award of the computer engineering program enables a student to stop the study toward a bachelor degree for any emergency reason. A student with such an award is expected to have a sufficient level of knowledge and skills that enables resuming a bachelor study in the same field, starting a career at a position below that of an engineer, or considering a relevant private business.
For direct entry into the College of Engineering, the student should have General Education Diploma (12th standard) or certified equivalent with overall score of C and minimum of grade D in Pure Mathematics, English and (Physics or Chemistry).
The student should also successfully complete the General Foundation program with an overall score of 65% in the following areas:
English proficiency
Study skills
Math
Information Technology
To be exempted from the GFP (English Component), a minimum score of 5.00 in IELTS certificate or equivalent is required.
To be exempted from the GFP (IT Component), an ICDL Certificate in English or its equivalent is required.
Graduates are expected to function as Computer Engineering professionals or entrepreneurs.
Graduates are expected to show commitment to lifelong learning, continuing education, and professional growth.
An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
