Program Overview:
The Master of Sciences in Critical Care Nursing (MSc-CCN) program is intended for experienced nurses with a BSN degree (with specific entry requirements). The program is designed to prepare graduates to perform advanced nursing roles in critical care settings. The focus of the curriculum is on impacting the patients’ outcomes through clinical judgment, ethical decision-making, and evidence-based practice. Students are required to achieve a minimum of 30 credit hours of coursework including electives, and 6 credit hours for the thesis
Number of Credit hours: 36.
Duration: 2 years (4 academic semesters) (may be completed in 3 academic full-time semesters)
Entry Requirements:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited/recognized higher education institution, with at least two years of clinical experience and a CGPA of 2.5 of a scale of 4.0. Students must also provide an English Proficiency Test Certificate academic band (6.0) on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent. Students must pass the graduate level interview that is designated for, but not limited to, evaluating the previous learning and clinical experience. At the discretion of the graduate admission committee, additional courses may be waived for candidates who have earned any additional specialized diploma in nursing from a recognized institution that lasted for at least 9 months of continuous study and with at least one year of specialized clinical experience.

- Relevant clinical/work experience certificate.
- Two Letters of Recommendation.
- One page of personal statement.
- Copy of:
o Bachelor’s degree in nursing with transcript
o Certificate of specialized diploma in nursing with transcript (if available).
o Copy of the (IELTS) or equivalent
o Photo ID.
o Updated brief CV (maximum 2 pages).
*Equivalency of all degrees from Oman MOHERI is required if degree/s is/are earned from outside Oman).
