University of Buraimi and OCCI–Buraimi Host Virtual Seminar on Foreign Investment in Oman

The University of Buraimi, in collaboration with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Buraimi Branch, organized a virtual seminar titled “Foreign Investment in Oman: Opportunities, Legislative Incentives, and Implementation Challenges.” The event aligns with Oman Vision 2040, aiming to promote a diverse, innovation-driven economy.

The seminar featured three expert-led papers. Dr. Heba Aboubakr Awad discussed incentives and guarantees under Oman's Foreign Investment Law (RD 50/2019) and the Free Zones Law (RD 38/2025), highlighting their role in attracting foreign investors. She emphasized the need for digital transformation, improved infrastructure, and skilled local workforce development.

Prof. Osama Khalil addressed legal conflicts in investment contracts, calling for unified international commercial laws to protect investors.

The seminar underscored Oman’s ongoing efforts to become a regional hub for investment and strengthen its global economic integration.
